Due to personal circumstances Tony White has stepped down from the Director of Carnivals and Special Events  role.  This means we have a vacancy on the Board.  

 

Can you please canvas your members for any interested parties for this position.  It will be important to have someone in this role if we are to progress with the Hockey 8’s event.  The job description is attached.  Nominations will be accepted on the attached form and have a closing date of 5pm on 29th of June 2018.  If you have any questions or would like to talk about what the job entails then please email admin@haw.net.au or call the office on 0417 688 852

 

Our sincere thanks go to Tony who  has completed six years in this volunteer position and has assisted in achieving outcomes for both  the Board and the wider HAW community. 

As part of HAW's proposed Family Festival of Hockey, we are pleased to announce On the weekend of 7/8 July
· Both our Capital League Spitfires will be playing double headers from 2pm on Saturday and from 11am on the Sunday.
· AND the HAW Spitfires will be running a coaching clinic for any Hockey Albury Wodonga junior who is U17 in 2018. Details of the clinic and how to register are below
· There will be some entertainment provided for the children over part of the weekend.

This is a great opportunity for the all the family to come along and see some excellent hockey locally

Hockey Albury Wodonga are having a defibrillator installed at the Albury Hockey Centre which will be available to anyone, should it be required.

All members of the HAW community are invited to participate in the training session to be held on Tuesday 12th June, 6.00pm to 7.00pm in the HAW clubhouse

Wodonga Hockey Club are having a defibrillator installed at the Wodonga Hockey Centre; available to anyone, should it be required.

We therefore extend an open invitation to members of the HAW community to participate in the training session to be held on Wednesday 30th May, 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

Spitfires Player Auction

Come and fly with the Spitfires at their "Players Action" fundraiser night!

Bid for the "Magic pair" as a male player and female player are drawn from the hat! If you think they'll be the Best & Fairest for the year with a consistent year, then bid ...and win the prize money. A % of the total raised on the night will go to the winners...the more bids, the more money that you can win! Wow!

A Silent auction will also be on display and music will be at its best with the talented Spitfires Women GK Samantha Campbell and her 3 piece band! The Mia Grace trio!

Junior Country Championships – Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th of May, 2018

 

HAW Rep trials will run be on Saturday 24 March at Albury

U13 girls and boys at 3pm

U15 girls and boys at 4pm

U17 girls and boys at 5pm

 

If you make the team, there is a cost of $110 per player plus uniform.  There will be a no cost to trial.

There will be a preseason umpires meeting on Monday 26 March at 6.30pm in the clubhouse. It would be great to see all our umpires and prospective umpires here for this.

There will be small group coaching for all involved and groups will be broken up on an age/skill basis to ensure the most benefit for all attending.  After the clinic there will be a complementary drink and bacon and egg roll for all participants.  Also after the clinic the Spitfires will be playing some practise games against teams from Melbourne and ACT, so this is great opportunity for you to watch some quality hockey by skilled players.
