Information re Rep Squad Training - Friday, 10 September 2010

Hi everyone,

As yet we do not have all of the coaches and managers positions filled so we are currently working to fill those positions. There will be an information session at 12pm Sunday November 7th at the Club Rooms, which will include a BBQ lunch, for anyone who may be interested in volunteering and wants to know more about what is involved.

At this stage the training plan is to give the players (and more importantly the parents) a rest from Hockey. I don’t expect to see training start until late October early November. At this stage my best guess would be that we will look to train for about five to six weeks before Christmas, let’s say the week beginning 8th November through until the week ending 17th December. We will then break for Christmas and perhaps resume week beginning 21st February for a few weeks and pick the teams in early March. The players will then train intermittently until their tournaments are played (at this stage -boys first tournament in April, girls first tournament in June) when they may rev it up again a few weeks before the tournament date.

This is the best I can do at the moment as it will ultimately be up to the individual coaches to determine the training schedule however I assume it will look fairly similar to the above.

Invitation to current and prospective Coaches and Managers - Wednesday, 1 September 2010

As you are aware, we have just completed trials for our Representative Squads for 2011. The Committee has also received a number of applications for Coaches, Managers and Trainee Coaches, however, we do still have some gaps that we would like to fill sooner rather than later. As such we would like to invite all current and any other people interested in coaching, managing or becoming a trainee coach to attend a Information Session, inthe form of a BBQ, on the evening of Sunday November 7, at the Albury Grounds. At this Information Session the Rep Committee will be seeking feedback from those previously involved as well as giving information on our expections and requirements for those people taking on the Coaching or Managing roles.

If you have any interest in Representative Hockey but was not sure on what would be required to help, this would be the time to find out what is involved. A flyer will be placed on the Notice Board at Albury along with a page to add your name and contact email/phone number if you would like to attend.
