FEES:  Fees have remained unchanged for the last 3 years. Fee are payable the first weekend after Easter (i.e. 18-19 April 2009)
Senior Fees 150.00,                                                                                                Student Fees $125.00
                                                                                                Veterans Fees $95.00
Junior Fees 65.00
                                                                                                Senior playing both Sen & Vets $155.00
                                                                                                Junior playing both Sen & Jun $125.00
 
Synthetic fees also remain the same at $10.00/game seniors and veterans. $6.00/game for juniors for synthetic matches and $2.00 for away matches or grass matches.
 
$10.00 membership fees, this fee is also applicable for goalies that have their own gear.
 
UNIFORMS: Can order dress shirts from Lisa or Paula at a cost of $30.00 each. Playing shirts are also available for purchase at $40.00/shirt, please place your order with Paula. Shirts are available for purchase at all matches and training nights. Skirts (box pleat) are available at a cost of $28.00 each, these are also available at matches and training nights. Socks – royal blue thinskins – these are available at Rebels in various sizes at a cost of $9.99/pair. 
 
Our club has signed up with Rebels for a MVP program (discounts), cards will be issued to players. 
 
FUNDRAISING: Our clubs fundraising efforts help to ensure we continue to have the lowest participation fees in the Association. Please wherever possible support the fundraising efforts to keep costs at a minimum.
 
Our Club Day will be 9th May. Club day is where all senior teams play on a Saturday only, there are approx 2 per year and are designed for fundraising. We will being holding a BBQ throughout the day with other culinary delights available. 
 
Other fundraising efforts include pie drives, raffles, street bbq’s – further information will be available in future newsletters.
 
2009 SEASON DRAW: these are available on the Hockey Albury Wodonga Website at:
 
TRAINING: Training is held every Tuesday 5.30-6.30 Juniors and 6.30-8.00 Seniors.
 
JUNIORS: It is compulsory that all junior players wear shinpads and mouthguards at training as well as matches.
 
COACHES: The club is still looking for an A Grade mens coach and manager. 
 
MINKEY & U10 TEAM & COACH: Registration days for under 10’s will be held 6th & 27th April with the competition commencin on 4th May 2009. If you are interested in helping please let the committee know.
 
REGISTRATION: All members and players must fill out a registration form. These will be available at training see Lisa.
 
CODE OF CONDUCT: This must be completed by all players before season start. If you have signed one please see a committee member.
 

REBELS BBQ FUNDRAISER: the Club has arranged for Saturday 18th April to hold a fundraiser BBQ outside Rebels Sport. We are looking for helpers to help in 1 hours blocks (commencing at 9.00 a.m. and finishing around 1.00 pm). It is important that all players, parents and members help out. These fundraisers help to keep the clubs playing fees cheaper.

Fundraiser Film Night
–  Shrek the Third we are close to confirming a suitable date for mid-late June for the Clubs film night fundraiser at the Regent Cinema Albury. All Coaches and Managers will be notified when a screening date has been set.  Bring along your family and friends for a fantastic night.

 

Trading Post – Don’t forget if you have something to sell contact Dennis Martin at HAW to advertise your goods in HAW’s own trading post.

 

Outcomes from Presidents & Secretaries Meeting (10/5):

 

*        HAW would like to remind all teams to commence matches at their designated times.  Umpires have been directed to commence matches on time, if teams have not taken the field, umpires will start the match clock on time.

*        All clubs are reminded to keep dugout areas clean when matches are finished – please pick up all drink bottles etc

*        HAW has a computer available at Albury grounds for anyone to use for checking draws, competitions etc.

*        Umpires must be paid before matches commence.  Unfortunately there have been instances where umpires are still chasing payments days after the matches.

*        Coaches & Managers    – please make sure if you’re home team you must provide a timekeeper

- please ensure all player subs are taken at the ½ line

- subs cannot take the field until completion of short corner

 

Steakhouse Cup -  will be played on weekend of 19 & 20 May – the following changes have been made to matches:

                        Div 2 Men – MASC Gold V’s Norths – AHC2 – Sat 19th May 6.30 pm

 

New guideline for U12 & U14 matches – HAW have set in place a guideline which will be enforced immediately, banning tomahawk shots for all U12 and U14 matches.  HAW Board discussed this topic at a recent President & Secretaries meeting, and it was decided to adopt the new guideline for HAW.

 

Fees – thank you to everyone for their prompt payment of fees and game fees.  Its great this year for the Club to be in a secure financial position when we pay HAW for match fees   If you are unsure where you are paid up till please contact Tracy Wood.

2007 season has commenced: U16Boys had a fantastic 9-2 win 9-2 over SSA – well done.  Check out the HAW website to check each teams progress.

 

Training set times are Juniors 5.30 – 6.30 pm (field 1) and Seniors 6.30-7.30 pm (will alternate between grounds 1 and 2 with Wodonga).  Just a reminder to wear shinguards and mouthguards at training and all junior matches.

 

Albury Under 10 Minkey program - Monday, 19 March 2007

The Albury Under 10 Minkey program will start Monday 26th March with a registration day. 4.45pm - 6.00pm. Followed by another registration day on Monday 2nd April. Season starts Monday 23rd April. Cost is $30 per child for the year and minkey equipment packs are available for $20 comprising a Stick, ball and shinpads.    

 

Fees – are payable in full by end of round 2 - if you prefer to pay off your fees please contact Julie Colman or Tracy Wood to make the appropriate arrangements.  

 

FundraisingShrek 3 - the Club will be holding a fundraiser film night sometime in mid June at Regent Cinema.  Please stay tuned to the May for the preview date.  Guaranteed to be a great night.

2007 season commences on Fri 30th March with senior matches on Saturday pm and Sunday 1 April.  HAW will post a draw on the website before season starts.

Training commences for all grades on Tuesday 6th March at 5.30 – 6.30 pm Juniors (ground 1 each week) and 6.30 – 7.30 pm for Seniors (will alternate between grounds 1 and 2 with Wodonga).  Just a reminder to wear shinguards and mouthguards at training and all junior matches.

Code of Conduct – forms will be available at training and all players must sign one for the 2007 season.

Registration Forms – all players, coaches, managers and volunteers need to complete a registration form before the season commences.  These forms will be available at training and first round matches.

Minkey/U10’s – the Club is looking for players/parents or anyone interested in committing to help run it on Monday afternoons for 1 hour.  No experience or expertise is needed – we need people to help with organising players into teams, help organisers with coaching drills, as well as encouraging players during matches.  Minkey will commence after Easter.

Fundraising

·           The Club has booked 2 sausage sizzle fundraisers outside Rebels in Dean Street.  These dates are:  Saturday 10th March and Saturday 31st March.  We need helpers on both days, if you’re available please contact Julie on 60218717 – the more the merrier!

·           We will be holding a fundraiser film night sometime in mid June at Regent Cinema.  The film will be Shrek 3.  Please stay tuned to the next couple of newsletters for the preview date.  Guaranteed to be a great night.

Uniforms – available through Gay Harvey (President).  Samples of uniforms will be available at training and matches.  There will only be 1 order placed this season for uniforms and work-out gear and final orders and deposits will need to be provided by Tuesday 27th March.  Walk-out shirts, jackets and vests will also be available for orders. 

Coaches and Managers Meeting Thank you to those who have offered to help out, most of our teams are covered for coaches and managers.  The Club still needs non-playing managers for senior teams – if you’re interested please contact Gay at training.  Next Coaches and Managers meeting will be held at AHC 27th March at 7.30 pm, to help out all Norths committee will be in attendance.

FeesFees must by paid by no later than Round 2.

Rep Trials – are being finalised at the moment and will appear shortly on the HAW website and the noticeboard located at AHC.  Dates and times for rep trials will appear in our April newsletter.

HAW Media Officer - HAW is currently on the lookout for a media person for the association, if you’re interested please contact HAW.

Umpiring Clinic – is being held by Chris Beath and are held every Saturday during March at AHC from 5.00 – 6.00 p.m.

Welcome to the start of preparations for the 2007 hockey season, to date the committee has been busy planning for the commencement of the season.   Congratulations to Angus Beath on his appointment as new President of Hockey Albury Wodonga (HAW).  Our Clubs newsletters will be distributed to all members and players on a monthly basis.

 

Registration day will be held at Albury Hockey Ground on Sunday 18th February from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.  If you haven’t already registered or are interested in joining please come along.

Charles Sturt University (CSU) Market Day will be held at the Thurgoona campus on Tuesday 20th February from 9.00 a.m. – 1.00 pm for interested players.

Code of Conduct – if you haven’t signed one in the past, forms will be available at registration day and training.

Fundraising – it’s in everyones benefit to become involved in fundraising.  Throughout the year the Club holds events such as lamington and pie drives, sausage sizzles in Dean Street and raffles at Northside Hotel to name a few.  These fundraising events help the Club provide the lowest fees in the association.  If you are interested in helping out please contact Gay or Julie.

Coaches -  all junior and senior teams need coaches.  At present we have most team covered in this respect, if you would like to become involved in coaching a junior or senior team please see a committee member.  HAW will be holding a level 1 coaching course in March, please see Gay Harvey if interested as the Club may be able to assist with costs.

Managers – each team needs a ‘non-playing’ Manager.  The duties of team manager are to collect games fees, complete match book, handout newsletters etc.  Please see Gay Harvey if interested.  There will be a Coaches and Managers meeting on Tuesday 27th March 7.30 pm at AHC.

Umpiring – If you’re interested in umpiring this season or learning the rules, a clinic will be held before the season commences, please see Gay Harvey.

Minkey/U10’s – we will need 2 people from the Club to help run Minkey on Monday afternoons for 1 hour, no expertise needed.  Minkey will commence after Easter.  Minkey is where our future players are drawn from, so it’s important for our clubs participation to help it run successfully.

Northside Hotel – club still encourages all teams to go to Northside Hotel after matches for social functions and meals.
